Chen is interested in low-dimensional topology, in particular Khovanov homology and knot Floer homology of links, and their applications to questions about topological and smooth structures in dimensions 3 and 4.

Biography
Chen obtained his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2023 under the supervision of Ciprian Manolescu. He then did a postdoc at Caltech from 2023 to 2026, with Yi Ni and Sergei Gukov as his mentors, before moving to Lehigh.
